Extrapolation of Turbulence Intensity Scaling to $Re_{\tau} \gg 10^5$

We have characterized a transition of turbulence intensity (TI) scaling for friction Reynolds numbers [Formula: see text] in the companion papers [Basse, “Scaling global properties fluctuating and mean streamwise velocities pipe flow: Characterization high number region,” Phys. Fluids 33, 065127 (2021); Basse, Impact viscous term,” 125109 (2021)]. Here, we build on those results to extrapolate TI under assumption that no further transitions exist. Scaling core, area-averaged peak demonstrates they all scale inversely with logarithm text], but different multipliers. Finally, confirm prediction squared is proportional factor text].
